A couple in love swaps fans. / A boy falls in love with his stepmother. / Two store workers fool their boss. / A father does not notice that his family is falling apart.
The performance is based on four one-act pieces by Misima Jukio: The Exchanged Fans, The Lighthouse, Flavored Poison and The Burning House. Misima Jukio (1925–1970) is one of the most exciting and well-known creators of 20th-century Japanese literature — whose dramas clash with Western and Eastern values, with heroes of medieval stories finding themselves on the streets of post-World War II Japan, while it becomes clear that the traditional Japanese family model is a thing of the past.
